The Millennial Kosher Cookbook by Chanie Apfelbaum, published by Artscroll/Shaar Press, is:
Fresh. Current. Creative. Innovative. Healthy. Beautiful.
It is not a recycling of every recipe you have ever seen. It’s new.
What struck me when I was looking at the index was that the side dishes were all healthy variations of vegetable side dishes. It’s true. Squash, cauliflower, beets, parsnips, cabbage, potatoes. Healthy. The Millennial Kosher Cookbook is for this millennium, where people are eating healthier, cleaner, reducing carbs and unhealthy ingredients.
This is also an “attainable” recipe cookbook. I have reviewed books where I warn my readers to make sure to read each recipe through before attempting to make it. Invariably there is some weird or unusual ingredient that the everyday person wouldn’t necessarily stock. The Millennial Kosher Cookbook is totally not like that.
The advice section in the beginning of the book is very informative and helpful. I haven’t seen a discussion about “umami” in any of the Kosher Cookbooks I’ve used/reviewed. There is one in this
Ok, so the Furikake Edamame may not be specifically to my taste, but if you like nori you probably would love this recipe. The rest of the recipes in the book? I’m really looking forward to trying them out.
A number of recipes already are gluten free or can be easily adjusted to become gluten free. That’s great for the GFE (Gluten Free Eater)!

Love your review and looks like a good cookbook. But unfortunately, it’s only sold as print, no Kindle. And it”s sort of expensive.

I agree! She had posted something similar on Busy in Brooklyn a while ago in bite size. I had made them then and they were amazing!
