Herbed Popcorn
Herbed Popcorn is one of the simplest types of popcorn there is to make. Make sure to use high quality popcorn for the best results.
Half a cup of un-popped kernels makes between 13-15 cups of popped popcorn.
Air Popped Method
The key to making amazing Herbed Popcorn from an air popper is spraying the popcorn with nonstick spray as it’s coming out of the popper. That gives the popcorn a very very light coating that any herbs or flavorings can stick to. I especially love butter spray, but you can use any type like garlic or truffle to give extra flavor.
Stovetop Popping Method
In a large 6-8 quart stock pot, place 2 tablespoons of avocado/canola/peanut oil and 1/2 cup un-popped popcorn kernels. You can also use your favorite flavored oils as well
To finish your Herbed Popcorn
I recommend sprinkling a small amount of popcorn salt/seasoning on the popcorn right after popping (and spraying).
Once the popcorn has been popped and coated, simply sprinkle your favorite herbs and spices on top of your popcorn.
I used Bouquet Garni for my herbed popcorn, but you can also use other spices like Zaatar.
